【KSW60】DJ Strawberryの新作がKSWよりリリース！CDも発売開始！

D.J.Fulltono、CRZKNYら、日本のアーティストが世界を牽引してきた「ミニマル・フットワーク」シーン。その最大の震源地・ポーランドの「outlines」レーベル所属DJのなかでも一際ダンサブル、かつテック・ベースなテイストで、EUやUKシーンから注目浴びているのがドイツのDJ Strawberryだ。

一昨年の世界ツアー、昨年の3作連続リリースを経て、この9月東京を拠点に活動するレーベル「koolswitchworks」から待望の新作『Straight, forwardEP』を発表。本作では3曲のブランニュートラックに加え、世界のジューク／フットワークシーンを賑わせるメンツたちがリミックスワークを提供。

新曲は、テクノシーンでもトレンドのハードなトライバルサウンドとフットワーク・リズムを見事に融合。3曲とも変則的なビートはほどほどに抑え、アシッドや空間系のエフェクトを駆使し、レフトフィールドなドラムンベースやテックベース、近年NYのAceMoらの活躍により新たな潮流となりつつある、高速BPMのイーブンキックビートにもフィットする、汎用性の高いトラックに仕上がっている。

リミックス陣も豪華でTEKLIFEからDJ Manny、世界ツアーを敢行したOyubi、D.J.Fulltono、Ace-up、そしてレーベル主宰Pharakami Sandersまで、“五者五様”の音を聞かせてくれる。

９月からは来日ツアーが開始。9/13(土)にはCircus東京でリリースイベントも行われる。現行テクノやレフトフィールド・ベースなテクスチャーを、フットワークビートに織り交ぜた最先端のテック・フットワークが、世界のシーンに新たな風を吹き込む！  

The “Minimal Footwork” scene—pioneered in Japan by artists such as D.J.Fulltono and CRZKNY—has been making waves worldwide. Among the DJs on Poland’s influential outlines label, one who stands out with a uniquely danceable, tech- and bass-driven style that has captured the attention of the EU and UK scenes is DJ Strawberry from Germany.

Following a world tour two years ago and three consecutive releases last year, he now returns with his highly anticipated new EP “Straight, forward”, dropping this September on the Tokyo-based label Kool Switch Works. The record features three brand-new originals alongside remixes by some of the most exciting names in the global juke/footwork community.

The original tracks fuse hard tribal sonics—currently a trend in the techno world—with footwork’s signature rhythms. While keeping the off-kilter beats in check, DJ Strawberry explores acid textures, spatial effects, and leftfield drum’n’bass and tech-bass elements. The result is versatile, high-BPM material that also aligns with the even-kick sound being pushed by innovators like AceMo in New York.

The remix lineup is nothing short of stellar: DJ Manny of TEKLIFE, Oyubi, D.J.Fulltono, Ace-up,Pharakami Sanders, each bringing their own unique twist.

From September, DJ Strawberry will embark on a Japan tour, with the official release party set for Saturday, September 13 at Circus Tokyo. Blending contemporary techno and leftfield bass textures with footwork’s raw energy, this cutting-edge “tech footwork” sound is poised to inject fresh momentum into the global scene!

ジューク婦人会による特製ドリロコス 

DJ FulltonoとPharakamiが主催するジューク/フットワーク・パーティー「SOMETHINN」が、久々に東京で開催決定！

9月13日（土）、CIRCUS TOKYOでの一夜は、Kool Switch Worksからリリースされる2枚のEP、DJ Strawberry『Straight, Forward』とTIMER『Syun-Rai』の発売を記念して行われる。DJ Strawberryはイスタンブール出身で、現在はベルリンを拠点に活動するプロデューサー/DJ。ミニマル・フットワークの可能性を追求するアーティストとして知られ、音楽メディアQuietus誌により2022年の最優秀テープ・リリースのひとつと称されたデビュー作『cycles』を皮切りに、outlines、appendix.files、Defrostaticaといった先鋭的レーベルから作品を発表してきた。

KSWから登場する新作『Straight, Forward』では、パーカッションを大胆に取り入れ、グルーヴがさらに深化。加えて、DJ Fulltono、DJ Manny、Oyubi、Ace-Up、Pharakami Sandersによるリミックスも収められた、聴き逃せない内容となっている。

今回のSOMETHINNでは、DJ StrawberryはDJとライブを織り交ぜたハイブリッドセットで出演。ダビーな音像と繊細なリズム・アプローチが織りなす濃密な時間を届ける。

レジデントのDJ Fulltono、Pharakamiと共にリミキサーとしてEPに参加しているOyubiもDJとして登場。トラックメイクとDJの両面で高く評価されているアーティストだ。6月にはヨーロッパ・ツアーを成功させるなど、活動の幅を着実に広げている。

同じくKSWからデビューEP『Syun-Rai』をリリースするTIMERも出演。重心の低いハウスグルーヴでフロアを揺らす。

そしてMetomeが特別なライブセットを披露。音楽と身体が呼応するような深い没入体験をもたらしてくれるだろう。
